7. June 2019
With over 30 production managers and experts attending, our first Practice Circle “Real-Time Production Management Now” on June 4, 2019, was very successful.

In his welcome address, Dr. Rupert Deger, Managing Director of the  European 4.0 Transformation Center, positioned the event topic real-time production management within the enterprise-wide context of the Internet of Production, a digitalization framework pursued by e.GO.  Kari Terho, General Manager of the E4TC Member Company Elisa Smart Factory, presented the Elisa real-time production management solution along with international deployment examples fostering visibility and analytics.  A case in point for augmenting lean management methods with detailed real-time shopfloor data was presented by Christian Mertens, Head of Manufacturing and Assembly at ZF Industriegetriebe Witten GmbH.

Following the keynote presentations, the participants visited the RWTH Aachen Campus Living Demonstrator environment.  Various 4.0 use cases developed together with our Member community were shown at the Demonstration Factory Aachen.  The visitors got a comprehensive overview of the Internet of Production, as realized at the electrical car startup e.GO Mobile AG.  The eLAB’s battery cell production line was presented as a key example for realizing quickly a digitally connected production environment, visualized and analyzed via Elisa Smart Factory.

The Practice Circle closed with a get together and panel discussion between guests and speakers at the e.GO Showroom. In addition to the vivid discussions and detailed questions regarding real-time production management, visitors took a close look at the electrical car e.GO Life, the e.GO Mover, and the e.GO Kart.

We are looking forward to your inquiries about this Practice Circle event, future events, and the broader context of the Internet of Production.
