Welcoming over 130 international visitors at RWTH Aachen Campus and the e.GO Mobile series factory on September 25./26., E4TC’s 4th Practice Forum – Realize Digital Transformation, was a complete success.

After the opening ceremony on the eve of the main day, three inspiring keynotes kicked off the Practice Forum which offered numerous interactive experiences at the Cluster Smart Logistik, the Demonstration Factory, the e.GO series factory and in the course of individual e.GO Life test drives.

Professor Schuh presented „The new platforms of new mobility”, including new traffic systems, the modular e.GO vehicle architecture and the digital architecture framework called Internet of Production. Ernest Debets, e.GO’s VP of IT and Digitalization provided insights into approach and functionalities of the modular Internet of Production architecture at e.GO. Under the heading “The 4.0 Transformation Modules leading to the Internet of Production”, the managing directors of the E4TC, Dr. Rupert Deger und Dr. Thomas Gartzen shared their experience realizing the Internet of Production in other companies, where greenfield approaches are not always an option.

The interactive parts of the event included the Expert Forum that put E4TC’s exhibiting Member Companies in the driver seat discussing their solutions for digital transformation. Parallel visits to e.GO’s Industry 4.0 series factory showed the details of its product and process architectures, as well as its implemented state of the Internet of Production. A key highlight were the smiles of our test-driving guests after a sports car like experience substantiating the e.GO Life claim “fun, practical, affordable“, having reached full homologation after a series of agile development cycles.

We would like to express our thankfulness to the exhibiting Member Companies Ad Ultima, Atlas Copco, Elisa Smart Factory, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, justSelling, Liebherr, PSI Automotive & Industry, PTC, SAS, and Valtech Mobility, and to all the inspired guests of the 4th Practice Forum organized by the European 4.0 Transformation Center.
